MIKE MELLOTT

Mike Mellott is currently training for his third consecuitve RAAM. Mike is an adventure chaser to say the least. With his life ranging anywhere from mountain biking through forests to backpacking on the coast and anywhere in-between, his passion is exploring and engaging in the world around him.

At 27 years old, he has plenty of go-getter attitude ready to be directed toward his life's pursuits. Working during the week doing custom home re-modeling, he works hard so he can play hard.

While those who don't know him well would consider him quiet, once you’re around him, he will make you smile at his goofy side and corny jokes. When it is time to get serious, he will put his nose to the grindstone to get it done. Michael has participated in many adventure-related awareness initiatives in the past, such as a 700 mile bike ride to cure a disease that he has personal ties with. When asked if he would join Team R4M in its efforts to raise funds and awareness to help provide for needs on a global level, he didn't need to be asked twice. Given the opportunity to link his passion for adventure and his love for helping others, a Race Across American seemed a perfect fit.

Excited for what this 3000 mile race holds for his team and himself, he is more excited to link arms with others and fight for the global issues of thirst, hunger, and education. A chance to better lives of the people that he will most likely never meet personally is worth fighting for . . . this is his heart.
